Memory Lane

Last year Briana helped me make a short memorial video for Alin Manciu. For those of you who may not be familiar with our history, after we moved from Slatina to Lugoj to teach in the Bible college there, we also worked with Alin to plant a church in the village of Stiuca. Alin took over that work when the Lord moved us again. After several years of ministry, the Lord called Alin home.

The summer of 2018 was the 25th anniversary of our move to Romania. It has been a blessing beyond description to serve the Lord and to represent our supporting churches in this land. To mark this occasion, I had the idea of putting together some videos to remember the work of the Lord in the places we’ve served.

In Malachi 3:11 the Bible says this: Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another, and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. In the spirit of that verse, these video clips will be an electronic “book of remembrance”.

The video below is from Slatina in south-central Romania, where we served for about eight and a half years. In those days, digital cameras weren’t as common as today. A number of photos and all the video clips I had have been lost or corrupted during the past 20+ years. But there is still enough to get a taste of the ministry during those days.

I am thankful for Briana’s work on this project. She is doing all the “movie making”.
